A & L — Relaxed Evening Wedding at The Barn Brasserie, Essex

A & L didn't want a big formal affair — they wanted a relaxed evening with good food, the people they love, and zero fuss. The Barn Brasserie in Great Tey was the perfect fit.

The ceremony took place up on the mezzanine, with most of their guests watching from below. It felt intimate and almost theatrical, especially as they descended the stairs to greet a crowd of guests.

Their daughter stole the show as ring bearer, and honestly, some of my favourite frames from the whole day are of her.

Instead of a sit-down meal, they ordered tonnes of pizzas — and the bride's sister made the most incredible cupcakes. No cutting-the-cake moment, just people grabbing cupcakes and going back for seconds. That tells you everything about what kind of day this was.

This is the kind of wedding I love photographing. No timeline to stress about, nobody worrying about where to stand — just a really good evening with really good people.
