Where I photograph in Suffolk
Bury St. Edmunds, Ipswich, Lowestoft, the coast at Aldeborough and Southwold, and anywhere in between. If it’s in the county, I’ll be there. My parents live down near Haverhill.
Nobody gets posed
I watch and wait rather than direct. No staged moments, no fake laughing, no holding a smile until your face hurts. Just the day as it actually went.
If the camera makes you tense
That’s most people, and it’s absolutely fine. No eye contact needed, no direction, no performing. I am neurodivergent myself, so I build the day around not adding any more pressure to anyone’s load.
Big venue, small venue, no venue
Barns, village churches, your own living room. I’ve never once thought a wedding was better because the building was grander.

Suffolk Sky
My parents neighbours told me that the sky in suffolk is the biggest in the whole UK. Long flat horizons, reedbeds, and a glowy brightness over the coast even in winter make Suffolk great to photograph weddings all year round.
I keep coming back
Suffolk is where I’m based on the English side, so I know how early it gets dark, which bits often flood, and where the eternal roadworks are likely to be.
